We tore out the tile and lathe from this old bathroom. The old peachy pink tile was a little out of date. The removal of the old tile was pretty difficult because of the 2″ concrete and lathe that was attached to the studs and subfloor. The new tile is adhered to a new layer of Hardibacker. The pan is custom built to slope onto a new drain. We added a cubby for shampoo and soap. It’s always a good idea to update the plumbing when you install new tile. The paneling was replaced with sheetrock and painted. New toilet, sink and wall accessories too. It is a dramatic improvement that will be enjoyed every day.
